'tis a good moment, and it only gets better. There's the wave outside the womb, the hug, the child calling you whatever it is you want to be called and so on. Everyone keeps telling me that it plateaus at about 14 but that's forever away!
Thanks WG, the baby is long hoped for and wanted, the child of my oldest and his lovely wife of three years. It will be due around my father's birthday in September and we are following every milestone, like no one every had a baby before.
Outburst, Forever is closer than you realize. Although the teen years were a bit trying for us occasionally, the relationship with my children just keeps getting better with each passing year. They are calling the little one Thumper right now for the sound they first heard of its heart, so lord knows what the child will decide to call me. Whatever it is I will answer joyfully.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Even if unexpected, that child is a wonderful gift to you. Nobody will believe you're such a hot Gram!
